Research field: 331.01. Epidemiology.
The purpose of the paper: Optimization of the surveillance and control of septic-purulent nosocomial infections (SPNI) in Traumatology and Orthopaedics wards.
The objectives of the study: Determining the real level of morbidity of nosocomial septic-purulent infections in Traumatology and Orthopaedics wards. Study of the nosological structure, epidemiological features and risk factors in SPNI depending on stationary profile. Evaluation of the use of antibiotics in prophylaxis and treatment of nosocomial septic-purulent infections of Traumatology and Orthopaedics profile. Elaboration of the strategy due to optimisation of epidemiological surveillance of nosocomial infections in Traumatology and Orthopaedics wards.
The scientific innovation of the research. For the first time was realised an complex epidemiological study, transversal, regarding to the epidemiology of SPNI in stationary of Traumatology and Orthopaedics profile. It was determined the real incidence, epidemiological peculiarities and risk factors in SPNI in traumatology and orthopaedics wards. It was evaluated the system of use of antibiotics in the treatment and prevention of septic-purulent nosocomial infections, elaborated the technology elaborated the technology of risk management depending on the patient's condition status, surgical intervention and postoperative rehabilitation process.
The scientific problem solved. It was determined the real incidence, described epidemiological peculiarities, noted risk factors and proposed their management to be taken into consideration in the epidemiological surveillance of septic-purulent nosocomial infections of Traumatology and Orthopaedics profile.
Theoretical significance and applied value of work: Studies carried out in epidemiology of septic-purulent nosocomial infections with the description of the epidemiological particularities and determination of risk factors in patients of Traumatology and Orthopaedics profile according to the particularities specific of stationary, will complete the universal studies in the epidemiology of nosocomial infections and will help to optimize the epidemiological surveillance through the effective management of risk factors.
Implementation of results: The study results were implemented at the Public Healthcare Institution Hospital of Traumatology and Orthopaedics, also at the Department of Epidemiology and Department of Infectious diseases as teaching material for university education and postgraduate doctors, and will constitute the part of the national guidelines for surveillance and control of nosocomial infections.
